While the Democrats bull-headedly refuse to work with President Trump on securing our borders, House republicans have offered legislation THREE times in the last week or so to pay government workers, and only 6 Democrats voted with them. All three attempts failed.
Former Navy SEAL-turned-Congressman Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) reported “House GOP voted to pay federal employees their 1st paycheck of 2019, despite shutdown. Only 6 Dems voted with us. It failed,” he wrote on Tuesday. “Dem priority is not paying workers or opening gov’t. It is opposing Trump.” (emphasis added)
Crenshaw added an update on Wednesday to point out that Republicans had voted to pay federal workers for a third time… and again for a third time, Democrats voted against it with only six liberals dissenting.
Thursday they voted again, and while 13 Democrats agreed, it still was not enough to get government workers paid. They need 8 more to get it done.
After the President agreed to postpone the State of the Union Address until after the shutdown is over, after he canceled Pelosi’s political junkets (and all unnecessary trips) to the Middle East and elsewhere, the Dems simply refuse to consider or even talk about any solution but their own– which is no wall, which means inadequate border security, which threatens national security and the safety of American citizens.
Some Democrats, like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the freshman Representative from New York, are even calling for the abolishment of ICE and disassembling the Border Patrol.
But this doesn’t concern Pelosi and her minions. They’re taking a three-day weekend to relax from their do-nothing-but-oppose-Trump agenda while their propaganda-machine-Mainstream Media continues to blame the President for the shutdown. But just in case that’s not enough, they present fake news about some Catholic high school students to keep the public distracted from what is really happening in the United States House of Representatives.
Mueller strikes again.
The latest victim falling to the Mueller “investigation” is Roger Stone, called a Trump advisor and “an official of the Trump Campaign” who actually left the campaign in 2015. A swat team stormed Stone’s house about 5 in the morning– a media-centered orchestration by Mueller. The obvious proof of that is CNN was on the scene when Stone’s house was invaded. Stone said all they had to do was call him, he would have “surrendered” peacefully. Instead, they treated him like an armed mobster.
Sarah Sanders, White House spokesperson, noted that the Special Prosecutor’s case against Roger Stone is “about whether or not he made false statements.” (Yet the press keeps bringing up “Russian collusion.”)
“We’ll let the courts make that decision,” Sanders said. “I think a bigger question is, if this is the standard, will that same standard apply to people like Hillary Clinton, James Comey, Clapper? Will we see these same people who we know have also made false statements, will that same standard apply? That’s a question that we’ll see what happens on that front.”
Hopefully, maybe, (but I won’t hold my breath) Mueller’s so-called investigation will be declared unconstitutional — because his “special prosecutor” status was not approved by the Senate — and all of his “evidence” will be thrown out along with the indictments. That’s not to condone wrongdoing by some of these people, but neither does it condone the backward way in which these people are being indicted.
Final thought: There’s a lot of people who think the government shutdown is “silly” and doesn’t amount to much. But tied to border security the ramifications go beyond federal workers not getting paid, as serious as that is.
It’s not just parks being closed, or airline flights having to be canceled. It reaches into the jurisdiction and responsibility of National Security, which the Democrats seem to be willing to sacrifice along with the protection of American citizens.
