Special Counsels must be approved by the Senate. Period. Mueller was not; he was appointed by deputy U.S. Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.
He was never approved by the Senate.
“I can’t get into ‘internal deliberations’ in regards to what would or would not be.”
This is Robert Mueller’s version of pleading the Fifth. He used it several times to avoid answering a question about why some people had the book thrown at them (most or all of them related in some way to Trump), and why some didn’t even get interviewed.
But he got caught at least once trying to give this pat answer when in fact the question was about what was already in the report! Rep Jordan (R-OH) pointed this out in his questioning of Mr. Mueller at the fast-becoming-infamous Congressional hearing of the fast-becoming-infamous “Mueller Report.” Jordan asked straight-forward questions to which Mueller responded “I can’t get into that” many times.
Jordan got a little extra time during the congressional hearing of former FBI Special Counsel Robert Mueller after Rep. Guy Reschenthaler (R-Pa.) yielded his remaining time to Jordan on Wednesday.
Unfortunately for Jordan, that “extra time” amounted to one question – or about 10 seconds before House Judiciary Chairman Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) slammed his gavel down. To be fair, Mueller did what he did during most of the hearing — not answer the question.
“Director Mueller, the third FISA [Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act] renewal happens a month after you’re named special counsel,” Jordan began before asking Mueller his question. “What role did your office play in the third FISA renewal of Carter Page?”
“Not going to talk to that,” Mueller swiftly responded milliseconds before the Nadler’s gavel hit the sound block.
Jordan did have time to say before that last question that Attorney General Barr is “going to find out why we have had to endure this 3-year saga” of this investigation.
With respect to our esteemed Congress members, this is nothing but a horse and pony show. This is the good guys (senators and representatives who have some common sense) being forced to participate in a hearing that is nothing but a manifestation of Trump Derangement Syndrome.
Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) concluded his time:
“When people associated with Trump lied, you threw the book at them. When Christopher Steele lied, nothing. And so, it seems to be that when Glenn Simpson met with Russians, nothing. When the Trump administration met with Russians, 3,500 words. And maybe the reason why there are these discrepancies in what you focused on is because the [investigation] team was so biased, pledged their resistance, and pledged to stop Trump.”
The American People are being sold out by a bunch of elected do-nothing Congress members and liberal media conglomerates who are so narrow-minded and short-sighted they have stopped caring about America as a nation. Instead they are transferring their hatred of one individutal to the rest of America and what we (should) stand for: Freedom.
It’s a travesty of justice, a waste of time and taxpayer money. In the meantime this country is being invaded by not just illegal immigrants, but terrorists who aim to see this country fall, and they are being aided by politicians who believe themselves to be above reproach. They only care about themselves.
What they don’t get is many of them– most of them– will be the first to be exiled (if not imprisoned or assasinated) if this country falls to Socialism or Communism, i.e. a one-party government, whatever it might be called.
But it won’t be called Freedom.
