Swedish teen Greta Thunberg is the new poster child for the Climate Change fear-mongers. The liberal media has jumped on this teenage bandwagon and will probably stay on it until the teen either gets tired of all the hype herself or someone (where are her parents??) puts her in her place, or more likely, they’ll dump her.
CBS falsely reported that Thunberg “stared down” President Trump as he arrived at the UN on Monday. Only problem was, she was behind the president, and instead of staring him down made childish faces at his back. Any picture of her that says that she “stared him down” is absolutely false– it’s just a picture of her pouting as she watches President Trump arrive.
Well, after all—-she IS a child. (And supposedly she HAS parents?)
Then apparently she threw a tantrum — as would be expected of an entitled teenager — and scolded the UN about not doing enough to stop climate change. She said the “world ruined her childhood.” So, she’s filed a human rights claim against 5 nations along with 15 other children (from who knows where). Germany, France, Brazil, Argentina, and Turkey are named in the claim, which does not seek compensation (yet) but demand these countries as well as others do what they’re supposed to do under the 30-year-old Convention of the Rights of a Child treaty (which the U.S. did not completely ratify). That treaty does not mention “climate change” or “global warming.”
What does she mean it “ruined her childhood”? She didn’t get enough ice cream and cookies as a kid? Her ice cream melted too fast? Not enough snow in Sweden to suit her?
The UN and the rest of the world, including leaders of the United States, surely have better things to do than listen to the rantings of a foreign teenager who has been schooled in all the right things to say.
What teen wouldn’t like all the attention, all the praise, all the gifts (you can believe she’s getting something for her antics), plus getting to travel the world? And if the truth be known, she has probably always wanted to visit the United States.
So, where are her parents? Are they traveling with her? Do THEY believe in “climate change”? (They probably do, it’s just as politically correct in other parts of the world as well.)
While the alphabet news channels were gushing over Thunbergs antics, they completely ignored the climate change protest in D.C. that shut down traffic in some parts of the city.
Climate Change is a hoax, a ruse, a fabricated crisis to create turmoil and chaos among citizens. The liberal media is the biggest purveyor of this junk science, unfortunately convincing a lot of people, especially young people, the sky is falling.
The U.S. Climate Reference Network — comprised of 114 pristinely maintained temperature stations spaced relatively uniformly across the lower 48 states — finds there has been no warming for the past 14 years at least. No warming trend.
Powerline contributor John Hinderaker said “The alarmists who curate weather records have systematically fiddled with them, lowering temperatures that were recorded decades ago and raising recent ones, to exaggerate the supposed phenomenon of global warming.”
NOAA’s system utilizes locations far away from urban and land-development impacts (like cities and airports where concrete temperature effects readings), eliminating the need to adjust the data.
James Taylor, director of the Arthur B. Robinson Center for Climate and Environmental Policy at the Heartland Institute, writes at Real Clear Energy that there’s “also good reason to believe U.S. temperatures have not warmed at all since the 1930s.”
“Raw temperature readings at the preexisting stations indicate temperatures are the same now as 80 years ago,” he writes.
“All of the asserted U.S. warming since 1930 is the product of the controversial adjustments made to the raw data. Skeptics point out that as the American population has grown, so has the artificial warming signal generated by growing cities, more asphalt, more automobiles, and more machinery.”
Taylor contends that, if anything, the raw temperature readings “should be adjusted downward today relative to past temperatures (or past temperatures adjusted upward in comparison to present temperatures) rather than the other way around.”
“If raw temperature readings are the same today as they were 80 years ago, when there were fewer artificial factors spuriously raising temperature readings, then U.S. temperatures today may actually be cooler than they were in the early 20th century,” he reasons.
So, Greta, go home. You’ve had your time in the spotlight, and before you know it, those who are using you now will soon throw you aside because they don’t really care about you. All they want is to create another panic scenario to push their agenda.
Go home and try just being a teenager for once. Life is too short.
But not because of climate change.
