Border Wars

The conflict continues concerning our southern border, but the biggest conflict is yet to be decided:  The battle between the Left and President Trump.

The best tweet the President did was “The wall is Medieval?  So is the wheel, and THEY BOTH STILL WORK!”

The liberal media continues to aid the left in thwarting what the President wants to do to secure our borders and increase our National Security.  Not only that, but curbing the large and ever-growing influx of illegal immigrants into our country can only aid the economy in the long run.

I suspect many of the produce and fruit farmers in those regions have their own reason –meaning money– for wanting to hire immigrants to work their crops, but it is empowering illegal activity that is just that:  Illegal entry into our country.

Also, human traffickers make money from the immigrants they promise to deliver into the United States, and too often abandon their “load” when the slightest threat of being captured arises.   President Trump is correct when saying it is a humanity crisis as well as a national security crisis.

The head of the Border Patrol who served under President Obama agrees.  Mark Morgan said the president is “absolutely correct” and the media continues to give out false and misleading information.

Now with another caravan of 15,000 heading toward our border, the crisis is far from over, and a decision must be made.   The Democrats are playing heavily on the “government shutdown” and they are now using scare tactics saying even our FDA food inspection is going to be compromised, the weather service is going to be compromised, the FCC is going to be compromised, etc.  They completely ignore the criminal aspect of immigrants who come into our country and commit violent crimes, many of whom have been deported at least once.

It’s important to notice that some 13 Congress members (that I know of) have offered to not take their salary during the “shut down.”

I don’t know anything about Congresswoman Cindy Axne of Des Moines, but I would like to think she has some solid Midwest common sense!  Quite a sharp contrast to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) who proudly proclaims to be a socialist, and who has refused to say whether or not she will refuse to be paid, even after she said in December:

“Next time we have a gov shutdown, Congressional salaries should be furloughed as well.  It’s completely unacceptable that members of Congress can force a government shutdown on partisan lines & then have Congressional salaries exempt from that decision.  Have some integrity,” she added.

She later reiterated her position, saying “it’s only fair” that members of Congress would lose their paychecks during the shutdown – forcing them to be more responsible.

Apparently Schumer and Polosi and the majority of the House Democrats don’t agree.  Congressional salaries range from about $120,000 to $225,000 annually.

The new governor of California Gavin Newsom has said that California “will be a sanctuary for all who seek it.”

Perhaps the wall should be built around California– except for their southern border.  See if they can handle 50,000 new “citizens” a month and see how their welfare expenses quadruple as the crime rate does, too.

There is already some infighting among Democrats.  As time passes, as Democrat leaders claim the wall would be “ineffective” but offer no real solution of their own beyond broad statements (“more technology”), some rank and file Democrats seem to be getting tired of being told what to think by leaders who are bent only on one thing:  Opposing President Trump.

Perhaps Democratic leaders are as out of touch with their peers as they are with the American People.
