Encouraged by the barbaric ideologies of those who believe they have some kind of insight on the troubles of the human race, the barbarism of the uneducated and under-educated is being acted out in mindless violence across America.
Oklahoma Wesleyan University President Everett Piper said:
“What we see on the college green from Berkeley to Brown is going to consume our whole culture. What’s taught today in the classroom will be practiced tomorrow in your courtrooms, in your living rooms and in your communities. The proof of that is turn on the news, listen to your show, go Google the news and you see these angry, red faces of 21-year-olds who are demanding that any contrary idea, anything they don’t like and makes them feel uncomfortable, be silenced. It’s ideological fascism. It isn’t academic freedom. We must confront this with the truth. Otherwise, we will not be a free society and a free culture.”
Piper said truth is not a collection of opinions or speculation, but it is an objective reality.
The ones who claim to be fighting fascism are using fascist tactics to silence their opposition.
The Bolsheviks came to power in Russia in the early 1900s with the same kind of rhetoric and violent protests. First they confiscated all weapons from all citizens. Then everyone that stood contrary to their way of thinking was silenced by violent suppression of free speech through imprisonment, exile, even murder. Russian history, true Russian history, was removed from the schools for 17 years or more, and when the Bolsheviks became the full-fledged Communist Party, then only the Party history was taught.
The attempted brainwashing of several generations ensued, but had limited success. There were still those who remembered what it was like to be free, who believed that as God created all men, so did God grant Freedom to all men, and no one, no government has the right to take it from them. Churches came under the control of the Government, and pastors who did not preach and teach the Communist “bible” were removed from their pulpits. But true believers are a resilient bunch, and they persevered through their faith and the grace of God.
Secret churches grew up almost overnight, and Christianity flourished. As persecution grew, so did the number of believers. Communism could not stamp out Christianity.
Is America entering that period in it’s history? Perhaps.
“But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God–having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.” “…these people are always learning, but never come to a knowledge of the truth.” (2 Tim 3:1-5,7 NIV)
So what do we do? We stand strong and be courageous, confident that Divine Providence still shapes this country, praying for those lacking that belief.
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, among these life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” –The Declaration of Independence
Virtue supports truth, as truth supports virtue. But without virtue, truth becomes distorted, for there is no virtue in believing right is wrong and wrong is right. When the moral foundation of the Bible is ignored, from where the Founding Fathers gained their moral compass, virtue and truth decline.
No government, no country, no civilization, can long last without being morally responsible in their beliefs and actions.
