Restoration

One of my daily devotions – the Worthy Brief —  said this:

“….the real issues America faces [cannot be] remedied by politics. Political realities simply reflect the internal moral and cultural climate of a nation and its people. In their drive for power, most politicians are simply responding to or manipulating the current passions of the populace. Laws can be changed, but they will reflect the mores of the people which are shaped by media, music, art, and culture in general. Those influences reveal a nation’s true soul. While some leaders are morally superior to others, and may seem to offer hope, the real problems which plague society are internal and reflect the deeply rooted sin in human nature. The Gospel of Yeshua the Messiah (Jesus Christ) is the only path and hope for any degree of national restoration.”

I have often said our salvation does not come from the White House.  However I do believe that God can and will use people in our government to bring about His will, just as He used kings and judges in Biblical history, both to bless and to discipline His people.

There is a Freedom that is greater still than what we recognize as freedom:  The Freedom that is found in a life devoted to God, living a life following Jesus Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit.

Restoration will come to America as it comes to the People; one soul at a time.  We must realize that God’s Sovereignty far outweighs any political platform or agenda even with the best intentions.  When we as individuals earnestly seek to know and understand God’s will for our lives first, then we will also learn God’s will for our Country.

Amidst the chaos we’re seeing in our nations capital, pray for the creation of a God-centered moral base in our leadership at all levels, from the President down through Congress, and throughout our states leaders.

Pray specifically for them by name.  The President, the Vice-President, your congress members, your state governor— learn their names and pray for them.

If you are not sure what to pray, present their name to God and ask that the life-changing Power of Christ be made known to them, and that the Will of God for that person’s life be fulfilled.  “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities:  for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”   (Romans 8:26)

Salvation is of the Lord.
