The College of the Ozarks in Missouri has been fighting a 2021 federal directive to allow male students to live in women’s dorms.
The case dates back to a 2021 directive from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development that prohibited housing discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity.
The directive required College of the Ozarks to open up its female dorms to biological males or face possible six-figure fines.
The college sued the Biden Administration in the federal district court, but that court refused the college’s request to block the directive. They appealed to the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals, but that court ruled the college didn’t have standing to sue because it does not “face immediate threat of legal action.”
The Alliance Defending Freedom has filed a petition with the Supreme Court asking it to hear the case and reinstate the law suit. The focus will be on the lack of notice and contact by HUD before issuing the directive. “…the administration is required to provide public notice before passing directives; that way, they can hear the comments of affected parties and more carefully consider the interests of those involved.”
ADF’s petition also argues that the HUD directive illegally redefines the term “sex,” contradicting the “clear wording, meaning, and historical interpretation of the Fair Housing Act.”

Of course, the Biden Administration doesn’t consider the interests of any conservative or religious group, but kowtows to every woke policy that is presented by any person or group who can make the most noise. It seems the most glaring proof of this is on our university campuses. Texas tech forced out a coach for quoting the Bible; Depaul students want to eliminate a Christian group for calling LGBT lifesyles ‘sinful’; Harvard students demand Winthrop House be re-named; and the list continues to grow at an alarming rate.
It’s also alarming to see what is going on in our education system – the ENTIRE system – especially remembering what Lincoln said: “The philosophy of the school room in one generation will be the philosophy of government in the next.” Indeed, we are already seeing that truth.
I would also submit that can be said of our churches. A watered-down, feel-good, “gospel” only leads to weak churches, non-committed members, and in truth, fewer true believers inside the church walls, and that leads to a spiritually dead church.
14 “To the angel of the church in Laodicea write:
These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation. 15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. 17 You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. ….22 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” –Revelation 3
But God through His Son Jesus Christ has given us and shown us the way:
3 His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 4 Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
5 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7 and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. 8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins.
10 Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble, 11 and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. –2 Peter 1
