Envy and Selfish Ambition

In the book of James chapter 3 verse 16 it says “For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.” James pointed out there are two kinds of wisdom: the earthly, unspiritual, demonic kind, and the heavenly kind that comes only from God.

The chaos we see in the streets, the riots, the defiance of law and order, is the demonic wisdom of the world. People have bought into the lie about what they deserve because of their ancestry or the ancestry of someone else, and their ambition is to change the world into what they have been convinced it should be. Except it isn’t really their ambition.

Rather it’s the ambition of those who are in places of power who have their own selfish ambitions. They use the easy access provided them by the liberal media to propagate their brand of wisdom into the public mind, and it doesn’t matter who bears the brunt of their actions as long as the action gives them the end they desire. A blind eye is turned to acts of destruction, violence, and murder.

The propagation – or propaganda – has been fairly successful and all levels of education have been infiltrated and skewed toward liberal belief to the point of some university professors instructing people not in literary studies, but rather in ways to successfully topple statues of historical figures.

The evidence of “disorder and every evil practice” is found in several states and cities where governors and mayors have declared themselves to be the only lawful authority and enacted policies that have only one reason: To test – and gain – the control of the citizens in their states and cities.

The Constitution is being tested time and again all over America, but also – and this is what a lot of people do not understand – the very sovereignty of God is being tested.

People have been given over to a reprobate mind, their conscience seared and scarred over, preventing any compassion or civil decency, denying Godly wisdom.

James said in chapter 4 “You adulterous people! Don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity with God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.”

Some people may say “So what? I don’t believe in God.” Just remember: God believes in you, He knows you because He made you, and whether you believe in Him or not doesn’t change that. Only a fool says in his heart there is no God (Psalm 14).

The only Sin that cannot be forgiven is the rejection of the Holy Spirit, and thereby the rejection of the salvation offered by God through Jesus Christ.

“How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the Blood of the Covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of Grace?…the Lord will judge His people. It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the Living God.” –Hebrews 10:29-31

America is convulsing from deep wounds, perhaps fatal wounds, brought about by the Godless ideologies of liberalism, socialism, and politically correct thinking portrayed as truth. The persistent lies and half-truths propagated by the media keeps the American citizens from learning the truth. The degradation of our education system has produced people unable to reason clearly and teachers and professors only able to teach political activism and defiance of authority.

For 40 years the nation of Israel wandered the desert because of their continued and repeated sin. Only after a generation had died were their descendants allowed into the land promised to them. But are we now looking at the death of a generation that will allow our country to be torn apart? Have we failed our younger generations in showing them the Gospel and leading them into the “promised land?”

How much longer will God show patience and mercy? We have no right other than our redemption through Jesus Christ to even consider asking. ONLY by a renewed outpouring of the Holy Spirit in America today are going to see revival and reconciliation.

As important as it seems, our salvation does not come from the government or anyone in the government. When people realize that and accept that fact, this country might – might – turn around.

It is up to those of us who believe to show others the way.
